I’m sure I’ll love whatever you come up with, so this letter is merely a list of suggestions to give you ideas. I hope you’ll find something to inspire you, but as long as you keep my DNWs in mind, feel free to do as you like! General Likes:
I really love character-driven stories with a lot of emotion. I’m all about the fluff, but I also enjoy angst with a happy ending. I love to see characters building friendships, working together, going on adventures, getting into (and out of) trouble. Found family and loyalty are always welcome.
For romances, I have a huge weakness for cuddling, (mild) hurt/comfort, and, uh...characters getting soaked and having to snuggle to warm up, haha. Kisses are good (awkward or sweet or steamy). I’m also totally down for things like “there was only one bed”, “fake/pretend relationship”, or other situations where the characters kind of get thrown together and then develop feelings for each other. Also very here for friends-to-lovers, especially the kind that takes years to realize. Mutual pining is great, though I prefer it to end happily.
Although my prompts are mainly focused on canon-setting stories, I adore modern AUs, so if you want to put the characters in college or a coffee shop or an office or whatever, I will probably be delighted and charmed.
For art, I really enjoy a wide variety of styles, from sketches to watercolors to digital pieces. I love bright, saturated colors if you decide to work in color, but I also love greyscale and black and white. It would be especially neat to see some of these characters in styles that feel like they’d belong in canon, too. I think most of my fic prompts will work for art too, but if you don’t see anything you like, feel free to do your own thing. :)
Dislikes (Do Not Want):
Character death or maiming beyond what happens in canon. Violence beyond what is canon-typical. Abusive relationships as the primary focus of the story, or described in detail. Sexual violence of any kind. Explicit sex (allusions to sex or situations that get kind of steamy are okay, just...keep it teen rated or lower, please). Tragic endings.
Now, on to the prompts!
Immakuk/Ennikar: (Fanart, Fanfiction)
I saw this in the nominations and IMMEDIATELY knew I wanted to request them - the myths about them are some of my favorites in the series and I’d be so delighted to see something about them. For fic, it would be cool to see a prose version of one of their adventures (or a scene from one, or a scene we only get a brief mention of) or some further adventure that we don’t see in canon. Why did they steal honey from Cassa’s hives? Did they care for each other after their fierce battle with Unse-Sek? What was their reunion like when they escaped death? I’m also obsessed with the part where Kamet mentions that the story is incomplete because the original record was damaged/lost - it would be cool to see a version of what happened there, or multiple versions, either in prose or in the poetic style of the original.
For art, anything would be amazing but I’d especially love to see scenes from the myths illustrated in a way that makes them seem like they belong in canon - marginalia, mosaics or murals or wall hangings, anything along those lines. But honestly I’ve seen so little art of these two that I’d be excited no matter what haha.
(Also I should note that I am definitely all here for the read of these two as a romantic relationship, and would love to see that come into play, but if you want to stick to the canon tactic of showing their “great love” through heroic actions and loyalty instead of like, kissing, I won’t be mad. But I also won’t be mad if you add kissing.)
Kamet/Costis Ormentiedes: (Fanfiction)
I love the slow build of their relationship in canon, all the ways they gradually learn to trust each other, how Costis acts in so many ways Kamet doesn’t expect, how every time Kamet thinks of running off he instead chooses to stay. It’s also hilarious to me that they are having WILDLY different road trip experiences sometimes - because Thick As Thieves is all seen through Kamet’s eyes, and we know he looks at the world through a particular (blurry) lens, it would be neat to see Costis POV of a scene from canon. I’m also all here for deleted scenes - what was their life like in Roa before the Medes made their move? What happened in the shepherd’s hut, who made Kamet’s blanket shirt, what was it like for him, waiting for Costis to come home? (Could be neat to see a parallel here of Costis trapped in the well in TaT, not knowing Kamet would come back for him). And of course I will never say no to stories that answer the question of “what happened in the Taymets?” haha!
ALSO because I am on a big myth kick, I love the idea of Costis and Kamet’s story turning into an epic like the Immakuk and Ennikar stories - it would be fun to see a version of their events as told by someone far in the future, looking back and piecing a story together the way Kamet did.
Klimun/Gerosthenes: (Fanart, Fanfiction)
This is another pair that I saw in the tagset and was like “you know what? Heck yes”. We only see a very limited view of their story in canon, so any expansion would be neat - what further adventures did they go on? How did their relationship develop over the years, from their very unbalanced power dynamic at the beginning to the friendship we see at the end? I sort of love the idea of Klimun being the kind of person (however truthful) to wander into trouble, and Gerosthenes guiding him out of it time and time again. I also love the idea of some of that trouble coming along because Klimun was trying to impress Gerosthenes…even though he didn’t actually need to.
For art…I don’t think I have EVER seen art of these, so it would be fun to see some! As with Immakuk and Ennikar, something made to look like it belongs in the canon setting would be neat, but go where inspiration takes you.
Pheris Erondites & Dite: (Fanfiction)
Hello yes I have some feelings about the younger generations of Erondites men and most of these feelings could be summed up with a crying heart-eyes emoji. During the course of the series we see both Dite and Pheris lose a beloved brother, and lose Sejanus (the same person in Dite’s case, Pheris loses both him and Juridius, just in different ways). I’d love to see a story of these two coming together over their shared grief, and the shared knowledge of being the least-loved sons of their fathers and how that has affected them. It could also be neat to see an AU where Pheris goes to spend some time with Dite, either after the events of canon or instead of them - maybe he manages to escape and make his way to Ferria at the beginning of RotT? Or maybe he’s sent away in disgrace and Dite takes him in? However you want to do it, I’d enjoy seeing a story where these two get to actually interact.
Relius/Teleus: (Fanfiction)
Speaking of crying heart-eyes emojis, I am desperate for stories of their reunion after RotT. The fact that Teleus thinks Relius is dead during the big triumphant scene at the end of RotT KILLS me, please write me a fix-it. Or write me a story about how these two came to be on “poetry books and the kinds of adult activities teenage Pheris doesn’t approve of” levels of intimacy, over the years in their respective positions. Anything involving the poetry will make me SO happy, the idea of Teleus copying poetry for Relius hits me right in the feels. I love it when characters who are prickly or stoic on the outside are soft on the inside for another person, which makes this pairing so fun to read about.
