Let the wind howl if it wills. You are cozy and safe, and you have a book full of stories—some spooky, some sweet, and some told entirely through pictures—to get you through the night.
Hello, Trick-or-Treater! Or maybe I should just say “Treater” as I’ve only requested treats. I hope you’ll find something to inspire you, but as long as you keep my DNWs in mind, feel free to do as you like! General Likes:
Cute, fluffy stuff. It probably isn’t possible to write something too sweet, so feel free to pour the sugar on! I don’t mind a bit of angst, but it has to have a happy ending. For gen fics, I love to see characters building friendships, working together, going on adventures, getting into (and out of) trouble. Anything with characters out in nature is pretty great too. For shippy fics, I have a huge weakness for cuddling, (mild) hurt/comfort, and, uh...characters getting soaked and having to snuggle to warm up, haha. Kisses are good (awkward or sweet or steamy). I’m also totally down for things like “characters have to share a bed for some reason” or other situations where the characters kind of get thrown together and then develop feelings for each other.
I’ve requested art or fic for every fandom, so do whichever you prefer! For art, I really enjoy a wide variety of styles, from sketches to watercolors to digital pieces. I love bright, saturated colors if you decide to work in color, but I also love greyscale and black and white. Since this is Trick or Treat, one art-specific request is to draw the characters in some kind of Halloween costume. (I got an amazing drawing of Reynir and Tuuri dressed as characters from Zootopia last year, for instance). I think most of my fic prompts will work for art too, but if you don’t see anything you like, feel free to do your own thing. :)
Dislikes (Do Not Want):
Character death or maiming, including (for No End and SSSS) characters getting infected who do not do so in canon. (More on that in the fandom-specific sections). Violence beyond what is canon-typical. Abusive relationships. Sexual violence of any kind. Explicit sex (allusions to sex or situations that get kind of steamy are okay, just...keep it teen rated or lower, please). It’s also probably best to avoid AUs (unless otherwise specified) or unrequested crossovers.
Please do not include romantic pairings other than the ones I’ve requested, with the exception of canon relationships like Torbjörn/Siv or the Prologue Hotakainen couples. No characters in two simultaneous relationships.

This romance comic set in a post-apocalyptic zombie world has recently eaten my heart! (Not...literally. Though there is some cannibalism). There is also, for some reason, NO fanfiction for it as far as I can see. So if you write something, I will automatically love it because it will exist! And of course I welcome fanart too, I can never see enough of my favorite characters.
Just a note regarding my death/infection DNW: I’m fine with the presence of existing Undead - Wight’s whole backstory and present condition is fine. I just don’t want to read about anyone else getting infected, please.
Prompts:
Benny: Certainly a ray of sunshine, isn’t he? I would really like to read something where he gets to have a good day for once. Or, alternatively, a miserable day with a sweet moment at the end to make him feel better. I don’t really ship him with anyone yet, but you can include a romance if it doesn’t disrupt any of the current canon ships and takes characters’ orientations into account. (And please don’t ignore the fact that Jerry has turned him down, if you’re writing something that takes place after that.)
Modra: I LOVE THIS PUPPY BOY SO MUCH! I would happily read anything about him, from how he decided on blue hair to a story about his time as a lawyer before the story starts. Or once he leaves Zeus, there are so many possibilities for “clueless sheltered zone-dweller” shenanigans, so I’d be delighted by that too. I am a HUGE fan of Wight/Modra, I think they’re totally adorable and the forehead kisses get me EVERY TIME. So yes, please, any shippy thing you want to write with the two of them would be great! In addition to the kinds of interactions we see in canon, I’d love to see Modra combing/playing with Wight’s hair, or vice versa.
Wight: Other than cute shippy stories with Modra (*whispers* forehead kissessss), I think it’d be neat to get inside Wight’s head a little and see what he’s thinking. He’s been very quiet about the current Benny > Jerry > Cotton debacle, so his thoughts on that (or his own worries about dating Modra in his condition) would be neat to see. I also love the sibling relationship between him and Jenn, so a story about their past would be cool too!
Jenn: I LOVE HER. It’s clear that she’s trying so hard to keep the group focused and smooth out the relationships between everyone else, even though it’s like herding cats. It’d be nice for her to get a quiet moment to herself, or maybe a nice day with Wight or Cotton when events are less crazy than in canon. Jenn and Cotton are kind of my BroTP for this fandom, so seeing them interact and work together would be nice. (Or like, Jenn chewing Cotton out about his TERRIBLE romantic decisions, either in the current setting or in the past after his fling with Wight). I don’t ship her with anybody and would prefer not to read anything shippy with her, at present.
Cotton: Oh, Cotton. I love his ridiculous sense of humor and his ability to be COMPLETELY oblivious to relationship things while also being really good at the leadership side of things. I’m hoping he gets to be reunited with Jerry soon (because it really seems like they’ll be a thing) so I’d love to read some fic about the two of them making things work. Or, like I said before, Cotton’s friendship with Jenn, or him building a friendship with Wight after having hoped for something more.
I’m not opposed to fic about Jerry, Maverick, or Ramona either, but I couldn’t think of prompts for them so I felt bad requesting them specifically. But if you have ideas involving them, go for it!
The Raven Cycle

Acceptable Romantic Pairings: I like all of the canon ships, so Adam/Ronan, Blue/Gansey, and Maura/Mr. Gray are all fine in the background. (And I’d love Adam/Ronan shipfic, as you’ll see below)
Helen: Okay, so I’ve never really thought about fanwork involving Helen before, but I just re-read the first two books and I’m getting very curious about her. She seems very poised and put-together, despite her tendency to have “hobbies involving other people’s lives” instead of a career. I also really want to know how she reacted to her younger brother dying (or almost dying, from the perspective of anyone who doesn’t know about him being saved because of Glendower) and then going on an obsessive quest for years afterwards. I don’t know her precise age (she’s apparently out of college, so I’d guess mid-twenties?) but she was probably in high school or college when Gansey was stung, and I imagine it affected her. I’d also be really interested in a fic where maybe she has her own supernatural encounter of some kind, because that’d be neat.
Ronan/Adam: Okay, this is like...the flagship of this fandom, right? And for good reason, because it’s totally adorable. I’m very taken with how each of them presents one face to the world - Ronan’s prickly “fuck you” defenses, Adam’s quiet reserve - when on the inside, they’re both starving for love, and by the end of the series they manage to find that in each other. Some of my favorite things, in no particular order: Ronan dreaming up little gifts for Adam, Adam letting Ronan talk him into doing dumb/dangerous stuff, anything involving Ronan’s love for The Barns and its dreamed inhabitants, Adam pursuing his college dream but always coming back to Ronan. Or Ronan going to visit him at school. Or tender moments in Adam’s tiny apartment above the church, prior to his leaving for college. I also LOVE Opal, so mentions of her would be lovely.
Since this isn’t a pairing-based exchange, you are of course welcome to create something about Adam or Ronan individually. I like the idea of something where Adam finally gets out of Henrietta—on his own terms—and how he feels once he’s finally there. Does he miss it? Are there new things he loves, or new things that remind him of home? And for Ronan, I love stories about him and the Barns, dreaming up new things and finding ways to also anchor himself to the mundane world (chores, routines, etc). It might be neat to see the rift between him and Declan slowly mending, as we start to see in The Raven King.
Maura & Calla & Persephone: When I saw that all three of them had been nominated, I knew I wanted to request them. I love their friendship, the way the three of them work together and become three parts of a whole. It’d be cool to see something about their friendship before the events of the books, maybe even before Blue was born. (Or just after? Persephone and Calla supporting Maura post-childbirth and post-Artemus disappearing would be interesting.) I don’t really want to read something set after Persephone’s death, unless there’s a way to make it about the good times the three of them had during her life.
You’re also welcome to create something about them individually, but I don’t have specific prompts for that. They’re a trio of awesome psychic ladies with strong personalities though, so I’m sure I’ll love whatever you come up with!
A Redtail’s Dream
Requested Characters: Hannu Viitanen, Jonna Kuikka, Joona Kuikka, Jouko Kuikka, Oona Kuikka, Puppy-Fox, Riikka Skärsholm, Ville
Acceptable Romantic Pairings: Jonna/Riikka, Hannu/Human!Ville, Hannu/Joona.
Rather than a set of prompts for each character, here are some random prompts involving various characters:
*Hannu, Jonna and Joona getting up to mischief as kids/teens, maybe involving something spooky/supernatural? Can also involve Paju, Riikka, and Anssi if you like.
*Hannu and Ville continuing to encounter weird supernatural stuff after Ville becomes human. They end up becoming something like the ghost hunters/paranormal investigators of Hokanniemi, which Ville enjoys and Hannu complains about. Bonus points if everyone else either doesn’t notice, or just think the two have a weird new hobby.
*Jonna/Riikka being cute together, going on dates or just enjoying each other’s company. Maybe how their families react to the news that they’re dating (I like any range between shocked surprise and “lol of course we’ve known all along”). Maybe how they got together in the first place - who asked who out? Was there pining? How do they make their relationship work when they both have other life/family obligations that keep them busy?
*Oona & Puppy-Fox: Okay, I really just want to see something where these two meet and it turns out Puppy-Fox has met his match in an adorable (but slightly evil) little girl. It’d be especially great if Puppy-Fox attempted to play tricks on her and they all backfired on him.
*The Kuikka family as a group just kind of fascinate me - I’m SO curious about how Jouko is a single dad raising his kids on his own but one of those kids is 18 years younger than the other two. I would love to see some exploration of that, whether you take the “Oona is a magical baby found in the woods” approach or the “Mama Kuikka left when Jonna and Joona were kids, came back when they were teens for a brief stint, had Oona and left again” theory or something else I haven’t thought of.
*On the subject of Jouko, I feel like that man deserves a medal and also a vacation. So something where he gets a break (maybe some friends take over the bakery for a day so he can have some time to himself? Or the kids get off their lazy butts to do something nice for him?) would be excellent.
Stand Still Stay Silent

Acceptable Romantic Pairings: Ragnar/Hildur, Ensi/Author of the Info Pages, Ensi/Ukko-Pekka, Ensi/Ukko-Pekka/Author, Emil/Lalli, Sigrun/Agneta, Sigrun/Tuuri, Reynir/Tuuri, Reynir/Onni, Onni/Bjarni. (I don’t have specific requests for all of these, but feel free to include them if you have ideas)
A note about my “do not want” for death/infection with the Rash: In general, I don’t want to read a story about any requested characters getting infected with the Rash, though Prologue characters worrying that they’ve been infected (when it turns out they haven’t been) is fine. And I just...don’t want to read fic about Tuuri’s death. If you’re writing Y90 characters, I’d prefer you take one of the following approaches regarding Tuuri:
*Canon-divergent AU where she doesn’t get infected and does not die, or
*Something in the canon setting, but taking place before she is infected, or
*A fix-it fic that involves her coming back to life somehow.
Anyway, moving on! Here are some pairings I like, and specific prompts for them:
Ensi/Ukko-Pekka/Author of the Info Pages: Look. This seems like a crazy group, but hear me out! If you’ve read any of my Dreamworld Ladies fics, you’ll probably remember that my take on the Author of the Info Pages is an Icelandic mage named Rúna Snorradóttir who basically shows up at various points in Ensi’s life and annoys/falls in love with her. Ensi is...not always pleased by her presence, but she usually lets her stick around for a while. (I kind of headcanon Ensi as aromantic, so the falling in love is not mutual). Anyway, enter Ukko-Pekka, aka “Ensi’s one-night stand” aka “that guy who was Definitely Not A God Of Any Kind Where Did You Get That Idea” aka future Grandpa Hotakainen. Pairing either of these two with Ensi is a recipe for excellent crackfic, but all three of them together would be amazing! I can just imagine Rúna and Ukko-Pekka getting along like a house on fire, and Ensi getting so irritated at the pair of them.
You could also write either Ensi/Ukko-Pekka or Ensi/Rúna. OR, I’d be okay with a fic where Rúna gets jealous when she finds out about Ensi/Ukko-Pekka, because she has much stronger romantic feelings for Ensi than Ensi has for her. But I’d like there to be some kind of closure or happy ending. (Maybe it ends up with the three of them together, or with Rúna gaining a better understanding of Ensi’s aromantic-ness).
Ragnar/Hildur: Okay, we know nothing about these two except that they’re Reynir’s grandparents, but COME ON. Ragnar looks like he belongs on the cover of a Viking romance novel, and I am 1000% convinced that Hildur thinks so too and would be the one to write this. So that’s my idea: Hildur writing ridiculous pulp romance with a romantic lead who suspiciously resembles her husband. (There is a bit of fic about this already, but the fluff monster craves MORE! And if you choose to do art, the cover of one of Hildur’s books would delight me.)
Emil/Lalli: I love the idea of Emil and Lalli figuring each other out despite all the obstacles in their way - language barriers, different backgrounds, magic/no magic. Neither of them seem like people who have had a lot of friends before, so finding friendship in each other - and then more than friendship - makes me happy. Cuddles, cookies, annoying the rest of the crew with public displays of affection (or trying to hide their relationship and failing). And again, any ideas about how they’d make things work post-canon (does Lalli move to Sweden? Does Emil actually manage to learn some Finnish so he can move to Keuruu? Do they both move somewhere else to be together?) would be lovely. I’m kind of a sucker for post-canon established relationship fics with these two, so feel free to run with something like that too.
Sigrun/Agneta: Yeah, I’m officially on the Signeta train (pun absolutely intended). This is the best kind of rarepair - two ladies who have never met in canon, but whose hypothetical meeting would be totally awesome. I can see them meeting somehow in the course of their respective jobs (possibly Sigrun has to take the train somewhere) and hitting it off - or not hitting it off right away, but growing on each other. I also like the thought of the two of them going back to one of their homes and having to deal with cultural differences. Straight-laced, rule-following train lady being dropped in the midst of Norwegian Viking culture - it would be pretty great.
Sigrun/Tuuri: I really enjoy shippy stuff with the two of them, but if you want to go gen that’s okay too. I love how they have a shared enthusiasm for adventure despite having completely different backgrounds. And I can definitely see Tuuri having a crush on Sigrun during the mission (“You’re so tall!”) and Sigrun growing steadily more impressed with Tuuri’s competence as time goes on. Post-canon, if you choose to go with a version of events where things work out okay for Tuuri, I’d love to see the two of them figuring out how a relationship will work given their different backgrounds.
Reynir/Onni: This ship has been growing on me lately. I really enjoy their various dreamworld encounters, and Onni’s constant grumpiness failing in the face of Reynir’s determined enthusiasm. It’d be fun to see more stories or art with them exploring the dreamworld, and also maybe coming together in real life once the expedition ends.
Reynir/Tuuri: I love these two a lot, but I have a really hard time thinking of prompts for them with the current canon events. So if you can think of a way to write them that’s sweet and fluffy and unlikely to make me sad, go for it! Or maybe a story where Reynir goes into Tuonela to fetch Tuuri, a la Orpheus, and manages to bring her out (successfully) could be neat.
Other Prompts:
*Some combination of characters goes into Tuonela to rescue Tuuri. I don’t care how they manage to save her, as long as everyone makes it out okay.
*Scary stories! Characters relating creepy things they’ve encountered or heard of, stories they were told as children, etc.
*For any of the main characters (including Mikkel, though I didn’t request him, and also Onni) I’d be okay with some kind of modern setting where they end up exploring a haunted house or encountering the supernatural in some other way. Maybe someone’s a vampire? Maybe lycanthropy runs in someone’s family tree? Maybe Lalli goes out into the woods looking for Mothman, and comes back with a boyfriend? Basically some kind of silly, campy Halloween-themed story would bring me joy, so feel free to play around.

I don’t really want to read something set after Persephone’s death, unless there’s a way to make it about the good times the three of them had during her life.
You’re also welcome to create something about them individually, but I don’t have specific prompts for that. They’re a trio of awesome psychic ladies with strong personalities though, so I’m sure I’ll love whatever you come up with!
A Redtail’s Dream
Requested Characters: Hannu Viitanen, Jonna Kuikka, Joona Kuikka, Jouko Kuikka, Oona Kuikka, Puppy-Fox, Riikka Skärsholm, Ville
Acceptable Romantic Pairings: Jonna/Riikka, Hannu/Human!Ville, Hannu/Joona.
Rather than a set of prompts for each character, here are some random prompts involving various characters:
*Hannu, Jonna and Joona getting up to mischief as kids/teens, maybe involving something spooky/supernatural? Can also involve Paju, Riikka, and Anssi if you like.
*Hannu and Ville continuing to encounter weird supernatural stuff after Ville becomes human. They end up becoming something like the ghost hunters/paranormal investigators of Hokanniemi, which Ville enjoys and Hannu complains about. Bonus points if everyone else either doesn’t notice, or just think the two have a weird new hobby.
*Jonna/Riikka being cute together, going on dates or just enjoying each other’s company. Maybe how their families react to the news that they’re dating (I like any range between shocked surprise and “lol of course we’ve known all along”). Maybe how they got together in the first place - who asked who out? Was there pining? How do they make their relationship work when they both have other life/family obligations that keep them busy?
*Oona & Puppy-Fox: Okay, I really just want to see something where these two meet and it turns out Puppy-Fox has met his match in an adorable (but slightly evil) little girl. It’d be especially great if Puppy-Fox attempted to play tricks on her and they all backfired on him.
*The Kuikka family as a group just kind of fascinate me - I’m SO curious about how Jouko is a single dad raising his kids on his own but one of those kids is 18 years younger than the other two. I would love to see some exploration of that, whether you take the “Oona is a magical baby found in the woods” approach or the “Mama Kuikka left when Jonna and Joona were kids, came back when they were teens for a brief stint, had Oona and left again” theory or something else I haven’t thought of.
*On the subject of Jouko, I feel like that man deserves a medal and also a vacation. So something where he gets a break (maybe some friends take over the bakery for a day so he can have some time to himself? Or the kids get off their lazy butts to do something nice for him?) would be excellent.

Acceptable Romantic Pairings: Ragnar/Hildur, Ensi/Author of the Info Pages, Ensi/Ukko-Pekka, Ensi/Ukko-Pekka/Author, Emil/Lalli, Sigrun/Agneta, Sigrun/Tuuri, Reynir/Tuuri, Reynir/Onni, Onni/Bjarni. (I don’t have specific requests for all of these, but feel free to include them if you have ideas)
A note about my “do not want” for death/infection with the Rash: In general, I don’t want to read a story about any requested characters getting infected with the Rash, though Prologue characters worrying that they’ve been infected (when it turns out they haven’t been) is fine. And I just...don’t want to read fic about Tuuri’s death. If you’re writing Y90 characters, I’d prefer you take one of the following approaches regarding Tuuri:
*Canon-divergent AU where she doesn’t get infected and does not die, or
*Something in the canon setting, but taking place before she is infected, or
*A fix-it fic that involves her coming back to life somehow.
Anyway, moving on! Here are some pairings I like, and specific prompts for them:
Ensi/Ukko-Pekka/Author of the Info Pages: Look. This seems like a crazy group, but hear me out! If you’ve read any of my Dreamworld Ladies fics, you’ll probably remember that my take on the Author of the Info Pages is an Icelandic mage named Rúna Snorradóttir who basically shows up at various points in Ensi’s life and annoys/falls in love with her. Ensi is...not always pleased by her presence, but she usually lets her stick around for a while. (I kind of headcanon Ensi as aromantic, so the falling in love is not mutual). Anyway, enter Ukko-Pekka, aka “Ensi’s one-night stand” aka “that guy who was Definitely Not A God Of Any Kind Where Did You Get That Idea” aka future Grandpa Hotakainen. Pairing either of these two with Ensi is a recipe for excellent crackfic, but all three of them together would be amazing! I can just imagine Rúna and Ukko-Pekka getting along like a house on fire, and Ensi getting so irritated at the pair of them.
You could also write either Ensi/Ukko-Pekka or Ensi/Rúna. OR, I’d be okay with a fic where Rúna gets jealous when she finds out about Ensi/Ukko-Pekka, because she has much stronger romantic feelings for Ensi than Ensi has for her. But I’d like there to be some kind of closure or happy ending. (Maybe it ends up with the three of them together, or with Rúna gaining a better understanding of Ensi’s aromantic-ness).
Ragnar/Hildur: Okay, we know nothing about these two except that they’re Reynir’s grandparents, but COME ON. Ragnar looks like he belongs on the cover of a Viking romance novel, and I am 1000% convinced that Hildur thinks so too and would be the one to write this. So that’s my idea: Hildur writing ridiculous pulp romance with a romantic lead who suspiciously resembles her husband. (There is a bit of fic about this already, but the fluff monster craves MORE! And if you choose to do art, the cover of one of Hildur’s books would delight me.)
Emil/Lalli: I love the idea of Emil and Lalli figuring each other out despite all the obstacles in their way - language barriers, different backgrounds, magic/no magic. Neither of them seem like people who have had a lot of friends before, so finding friendship in each other - and then more than friendship - makes me happy. Cuddles, cookies, annoying the rest of the crew with public displays of affection (or trying to hide their relationship and failing). And again, any ideas about how they’d make things work post-canon (does Lalli move to Sweden? Does Emil actually manage to learn some Finnish so he can move to Keuruu? Do they both move somewhere else to be together?) would be lovely. I’m kind of a sucker for post-canon established relationship fics with these two, so feel free to run with something like that too.
Sigrun/Agneta: Yeah, I’m officially on the Signeta train (pun absolutely intended). This is the best kind of rarepair - two ladies who have never met in canon, but whose hypothetical meeting would be totally awesome. I can see them meeting somehow in the course of their respective jobs (possibly Sigrun has to take the train somewhere) and hitting it off - or not hitting it off right away, but growing on each other. I also like the thought of the two of them going back to one of their homes and having to deal with cultural differences. Straight-laced, rule-following train lady being dropped in the midst of Norwegian Viking culture - it would be pretty great.
Sigrun/Tuuri: I really enjoy shippy stuff with the two of them, but if you want to go gen that’s okay too. I love how they have a shared enthusiasm for adventure despite having completely different backgrounds. And I can definitely see Tuuri having a crush on Sigrun during the mission (“You’re so tall!”) and Sigrun growing steadily more impressed with Tuuri’s competence as time goes on. Post-canon, if you choose to go with a version of events where things work out okay for Tuuri, I’d love to see the two of them figuring out how a relationship will work given their different backgrounds.
Reynir/Onni: This ship has been growing on me lately. I really enjoy their various dreamworld encounters, and Onni’s constant grumpiness failing in the face of Reynir’s determined enthusiasm. It’d be fun to see more stories or art with them exploring the dreamworld, and also maybe coming together in real life once the expedition ends.
Reynir/Tuuri: I love these two a lot, but I have a really hard time thinking of prompts for them with the current canon events. So if you can think of a way to write them that’s sweet and fluffy and unlikely to make me sad, go for it! Or maybe a story where Reynir goes into Tuonela to fetch Tuuri, a la Orpheus, and manages to bring her out (successfully) could be neat.
Other Prompts:
*Some combination of characters goes into Tuonela to rescue Tuuri. I don’t care how they manage to save her, as long as everyone makes it out okay.
*Scary stories! Characters relating creepy things they’ve encountered or heard of, stories they were told as children, etc.
*For any of the main characters (including Mikkel, though I didn’t request him, and also Onni) I’d be okay with some kind of modern setting where they end up exploring a haunted house or encountering the supernatural in some other way. Maybe someone’s a vampire? Maybe lycanthropy runs in someone’s family tree? Maybe Lalli goes out into the woods looking for Mothman, and comes back with a boyfriend? Basically some kind of silly, campy Halloween-themed story would bring me joy, so feel free to play around.
